Michelle and Amy - Colorado Same Sex Wedding

Michelle and Amy have been together for 20 years and have an eleven year old son. They had assumed they would never be able to be married in their lifetime, and were thrilled to have the chance to commit to each other in front of their dearest family and friends. Michelle is a writer, and there was not a dry eye at the ceremony when she read her vows. In one part, she said that committing to marriage after 20 years together, after so many challenges and losses, after moves and changes, after raising a son together, was very different than it would have been committing to marriage when they first started out on their journey together. Now they know how hard it is, now they know each others’ faults and shortcomings, now they know who they’re marrying. And they still choose each other.
